Minecraft addicts rejoice, as developer Mojang has decided to make their next beta version Android game available to the public. Up until now, all Minecraft Pocket Edition betas were only available to those who were accepted into the beta program.

Today, Mojang announced that after a few months of work they have finally managed to bring the new Pocket Edition version to everyone who had bought the game via Google Play Store.

However, since the beta version is not listed in Google Play store, you will need to follow a few steps in order to be able to install it on your Android device.

First of all, you will have to join the game's Google+ community. Then, you must opt into the Minecraft Pocket Edition Beta. Obviously, you will have to own a compatible Android smartphone, and you must have already purchased Minecraft: Pocket Edition from Google Play Store.

It might take a few days for a new beta version to arrive on devices after it gets released

Keep in mind that the game will be automatically downloaded and installed on your device, so make sure you backup your existing worlds just in case.

According to Mojang, it can take a few days after joining the beta (and after an updated version is released) before you get it, so you should wait patiently.

Moving on to changes and improvements, Minecraft Pocket Edition beta 0.11.0 comes with lots of new features like skins, boats rideable by 2 mobs, fishing and more stone brick variants.

The new version should also bring new mobs, such as squids, spawning spider jockeys, cave spiders, bats, baby zombies and chicken jockeys.

A long list of bugs fixes have been addressed in the latest update, but also lots of tweaks and general improvements have been implemented as well. You can check below the full list of changes included in Minecraft: Pocket Edition Beta for Android 0.11.0.
