The PlayStation 4 edition of Minecraft is coming out today in digital form in Europe, PlayStation France confirms.
For the time being, there is no confirmation of a date for the physical release of the PS4 version of the survival game, and it is unclear whether or not the release date is the same for North America.
The news comes from a tweet on the official PlayStation France Twitter, confirming earlier rumors sparked by a broken link spotted on the PlayStation Store, listing that Minecraft may be released on the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system sooner than anyone expected.
The listing was spotted yesterday by IGN's Grer Miller, who screen-capped the PlayStation Store Mobile Storefront, showing Minecraft available for download for $20 / €15. Following the link resulted in an error, indicating the fact that the link was not yet functional.
4J Studios, the developer of the console versions of Mojang's open-world building game revealed that both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 editions of Minecraft were at Sony and Microsoft, respectively, undergoing the final certification test.
The studio is also working on the PlayStation Vita version of Minecraft, which for the time being requires a bit more work.
@BarraultBastien bonjour, la version dématérialisée oui, demain. Pas de date pour la version physique
