14 DAY TRIAL // Video game developer Minecraft says that, exactly on the last day of 2012, the Xbox 360 port of the indie hit Minecraft managed to reach the 5 million in sales mark.
Daniel Kaplan, a developer working at Mojang, stated via Twitter that, “On the last day of 2012, Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition hit 5 million copies sold! Crazy! Amazing! Great way to end the year :) Thanks!”
A big contributor to the milestone was Christmas Day 2012 when the title managed to sell 453,000 units across all platforms, an impressive figure for an already old release.
The total for all versions of Minecraft is now over 18 million.
Mojang has recently delivered the very significant Update 7 for its star title and more new content is planned for the following months.
