14 DAY TRIAL // There is no doubt that Mimi Faust and Nikko Smith, the two protagonists of a very raunchy tape leak, are cashing in on their new fame, but there are some that would deny them their financial rights by pirating their infamous lewd tape.
TMZ reports that “Scandal in Atlanta” is now the more pirated raunchy tape of all time, surpassing more famous instances like Kim Kardashian's performance. The news comes from Vivid, the company that is handling the release of the tape.
At 9 hours long, the tape of the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta reality series is surely one of the longest love-making sessions caught on tape, but there are already a lot of sites out there that are pirating the video and putting it on the Internet for their personal gains.
Vivid is reporting that it has already sent out more than 1,200 cease-and-desist letters to websites that were hosting the video illegally. But it's not stopping at that. Based on the huge interest this tape has elicited, Vivid CEO Steve Hirsh has all the reasons to pursue those who seek to pirate the video with full legal force.
He tells the press that “If you even try to illegally download this tape we will come after you full force. We have three full-time attorneys prepared and ready to go.” And rightly so, since ever since the announcement of the tape came out, Vivid reports pre-sales that totaled over $400,000 (€289,628) as well as earning the website around 15 new membership every minute.
Those numbers are nothing to scoff at and they show the real impact of the adult internet industry. We are still waiting for the numbers of the total illegal downloads, but that's probably going to take some time since new pirated version are popping up by the minute.
The odd thing is that the leak seems like a total fabrication at the moment and more like a publicity stunt, which means that a lot of the attention and the money are going straight to the people on tape.
Mimi is already enjoying a considerable surge in popularity and is going to certainly be contacted for a sequel of the tape, that people are saying was no amateur video, but a recorded shot. Some fans recognized the location as one that Vivid usually shoots its videos in. There is also the professional cameraman present on location, and the lighting, which is also professional.
So there is little doubt that Nikko and Mimi recorded this as a testament of one of their wild nights and a very high chance they did this for the money and the fame.
