Women love shoes but, as sisters Ilissa & Dorian Howard, founders of the website Milk and Honey Shoes put it, sometimes they love shoes so much there’s literally nothing available that will do. Because of that, they have come up with this great idea of offering the ladies the chance to design their own pumps.

Granted, the idea is not that new, but that’s not to say that it’s not excellent.

Guided by their passion for all things shoes and their love for the beautiful, the two are now offering women a chance to pursue their (shoe-related) dreams.

And that, without breaking the bank.

The newly launched / revamped website, Milk and Honey Shoes, offers a wide range of items to choose from, all priced in the $200+ range, in various styles: platform, flats, bridal and animal friendly.

As a single look at the site will confirm, each item comes with enough details to ensure customer satisfaction, including tips on how one should choose the size for different types of shoes.

If that’s not enough, here comes the best part: women can actually design their own shoe and they even have an entire gallery (again, including various styles, from the ones mentioned above to studs, and peeped and slit) for inspiration.

If they have issues of any kind, they can even ask for the help of a stylist online, and all their problems will be answered.

After the ladies choose a style, they can literally decide every little detail on their brand new pair of shoes, from the type of embellishment they want, to color and texture, height of heel and type of platform.

Again, the shoes come in a multitude of colors and fabrics, from leather to velvet and silk, and even glitter.

Clicking one option means the image / preview of the shoe changes automatically to reflect the change – the same happens with the price tag so that, at the end of the whole process, you should know exactly how much your new shoes cost.

For instance, the pump in the attached image has a 5-inch heel, is covered in silk with black leather accents, and costs $345 (note: we rushed the process of “designing” it a bit).

“We created Milk & Honey to introduce the idea of affordable custom made shoes to women everywhere!” the Howard sisters write on the site.

“We’ve lived in New York, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong and know a thing or two about getting what we want!” the claim. They also promise they know what women like – and say they’ll do their best to have it delivered to them.
