The Ukrainian Navy is now allegedly waiting for three military-trained attack dolphins to end their quest for females and return to their trainers.

Rumor has it that the three marine mammals went missing while undergoing training exercises fairly close to the port of Sevastopol in the Black Sea.

Under any other circumstances, having three dolphins swim around the Black Sea would not have been something to worry about.

Still, these particular marine mammals are supposed to be trained killers, which is why some say that the Ukrainian Navy would do best to locate and capture them as soon as possible.

Yury Plyachenko, who used to be a Soviet naval anti-sabotage officer, is quite convinced that, soon after finding the females they went in search for, the dolphins will return to the military base on their own.

“If a male dolphin saw a female dolphin during the mating season, then he would immediately set off after her. But they came back in a week or so,” Yury Plyachenko told members of the press.

According to Business Insider, the practice of training attack dolphins basically revolves around strapping pistols and knives to their heads, and teaching the animals how to make use of them.

As well as this, the animals are taught how to fit enemy ships with explosive devices.

Since these dolphins reportedly went missing during training exercise, some say that they also took their weapons with them. However, others maintain that there is no evidence to support such claims.

For the time being, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry is busy arguing that this story about military-trained dolphins being on the loose in the Black Sea is no more and no less than a fabrication.

Furthermore, they even deny the fact that the Ukrainian Navy has one such dolphin-training program up and running.

On the other hand, the country's media claims that the Ukrainian Navy is in fact carrying out such dolphin training exercises, yet refuses to come public with information concerning this military program.
