Reading between the Tweets

In April this year, Disney IT star of the moment Miley Cyrus announced that she had been dating model Justin Gaston for almost seven months. Much has been said about the romance, especially since there is a certain age difference between the two, but that still leaves many fans heartbroken at the idea that they might have split, as their Twitter posts would seem to indicate.

Should one read between the Tweets, so to speak, it is rather clear that something has changed for Miley and Justin – and that something can either be a temporary separation as she shoots for her latest film in Georgia, or a more permanent thing, the two deciding to put an end to their almost year-long romance. Their messages would seem to indicate the latter, as several US glossy magazines also point out.

“Why does saying good-bye hurt so much.” Miley Tweets feeling uncharacteristically blue. However, later on, she is back in relatively higher spirits, saying “Life will go on. You will smile again... We will smile again.” As is the rule with this type of messages, they don’t say to whom they’re directed, which could very well mean that they’re destined for Gaston, the same man who, just a couple of days ago, was saying that, while he did hold Miley very dearly, the media attention was occasionally more than he could take.

Justin also feels equally blue and takes to his Twitter page for comfort. Quoting John Meyer’s track “Dreaming with a Broken Heart,” the model writes, “Do I have to fall asleep with roses in my hands?” He’s also feeling down for one reason or another, presumably because they have ended the relationship, and speaks of pain and crying. “How many tears are in there? They’ve gotta run out soon right?” Gaston asks on his Twitter page.

As fans must remember, not long ago, word in the media had it that Miley had reconciled with Nick Jonas but had not yet found the courage to let Justin know. Apparently, the reunion took place as the two started shooting for the video for the new Disney track “We Are the World,” when they realized there was more between them than just the feeling of true friendship.
