Last week, Disney teen star and daughter of famous country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley caught all the headlines again when a photo from her personal album was leaked on the Internet. The picture in question showed Miley “slanting her eyes,” in what was seen as a clear mocking of Asian people. Although the star has apologized in the meantime, the Organization of Chinese Americans is still not happy, and continues to demand an official “I’m sorry,” several media outlets are reporting.

“The picture is offensive and now this statement is inadequate,” George Wu, executive director of the OCA tells Celebuzz. “It’s not a real apology. We’re not backing down without a fuller apology.” Wu further explains. What Wu is referring to as Miley’s apology is a post on the star’s personal blog, in which she explained that what people deemed “racist” was nothing but her making “goofy faces.”

“I’ve also been told there are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces! Well, I’m sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context! In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity! I was simply making a goofy face. When did that become newsworthy? It seems someone is trying to make something out of nothing to me. If that would of been anyone else, it would of been overlooked! I definitely feel like the press is trying to make me out as the new ‘BAD GIRL’!” Miley said the other day.

In the same post, she also explained that, now that Britney Spears was back on track, the media needed someone to pick on and, as it happened, it fell on Miley herself to play that part. However, it seems that her explanation is not enough for the OCA, which, as stated above, is not going to stop accusing the Disney favorite of racism until she issues an official apology that has to go through the regular channels – therefore, her personal blog will just not do.

This is not the first time that Miley gets into hot waters because of her personal photos. It is, however, a first in terms of drawing racist remarks – last time that she stirred such a controversy, it was simply because she had posted too “personal” photos on the Internet, which made fans and their parents say that she was not acting as a girl her age should have.
