The singer loses her top and dons fake teeth in “Unplugged” poster

The only question when seeing the new cover of Miley Cyrus' “Unplugged” performance will be: “Has she gone Lady Gaga on us?” The “Wrecking Ball” singer chose a very odd ensemble for the artwork for her upcoming MTV show.

Without a top on but with star-shaped pasties covering her feminine bits, Miley wears a yellow bandana around her neck, black cowboy gloves and a black wide-brimmed hat, as a pair of fake teeth can be seen jutting out of her mouth.

The only plausible explanation for this curious get-up is that Miley is trying to pay a homage to her deep-South roots, hinting at the cowboy culture. Oddly enough, it's not Miley's toplessness that attracts attention, but her weird buck teeth that don't even seem to fit very well in her mouth.

The same fake teeth bit was also employed by Lady Gaga, famous for her curious outfits. On the cover of her single, “Dope,” Lady Gaga can be seen grinning from under a big hat that covers her eyes, with a set of huge, metallic teeth.

Miley proudly showed off her picture with an announcement on Twitter that said “@MTV PRESENTS MILEY CYRUS: MTV UNPLUGGED YALL check it out January 29th!,” while MTV promoted the show by saying there would be many surprise guests and performances on the night of the event.

It looks like Cyrus is walking more and more in Gaga's footprints, with increasingly shocking outfits and performances. But while Miley is currently enjoying a surge in popularity, Gaga's crazy style seems to have faded a little, as her last album “ARTPOP” performed poorly in charts all over the world.

The world might very well have had enough controversy from young musicians these days and is looking for a more conservative role model for its teens. Or maybe everyone is not yet back from their winter vacations just yet.

Make sure to watch Miley Cyrus perform her unplugged concert on MTV on January 29, starting with 8pm.
