14 DAY TRIAL // It's been almost a year since Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth chose to end their relationship and their engagement. Since then, Miley has blossomed into a twerking princess who can't keep her tongue in her mouth and who loves shocking people with her performances, while Liam has taken the more conservative path and kept to making more movies and less headlines.
Now, for the first time since the split and proving right those rumors that Miley was indeed still hot for Liam, she opened up about her relationship towards her ex on an Australian TV show “Sunday Night” and said outright, “I love Liam, Liam loves me.”
There was hesitation in her voice, but the words came easy to her, letting it seem like there was a lot of mulling over until she reached that conclusion. In the end, her declaration of love sounded like an ultimatum, which makes things all the more complicated.
This is a far departure from her hit love song “Wrecking Ball,” that is believed to have been inspired by her break from Liam. Though she often cried on stage during this song, she sometimes also had some not-so-flattering words for Liam, hinting that there was much resentment over their split.
At the time she said, “It's about finding yourself and sometimes you have to separate yourself from everyone. I just had to become this person who is sitting in this chair right now. If I didn't I just felt like there was something that was going to explode and I had to set myself free.”
Now it seems that Miley has come back to kinder feelings and is now even considering a reconciliation. Taking into account that right after the split her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, told the press that “All I know for sure is I heard my daughter say today she's the happiest she's ever been in her life immediately following [the breakup],” it's hard to say where the truth lies.
Liam has yet to respond to this new declaration of love, which has obviously taken him by surprise, since, as far as he knew, they were still broken up. There were some reports that Liam contacted Miley by phone earlier this year, when she was in the hospital allegedly due to an allergic reaction to antibiotics.
At the time, Liam was said to have gotten concerned with her state of health and decided to contact her in order to find out how she was really feeling. There is no way of knowing what they discussed, but this does give us a hint that Liam too still cares although it was said that he was the one who initiated the split.
