She said she wanted to show people that she’s grown up and is no longer the “Hannah Montana girl”: Miley Cyrus is doing just that, with the help of a brand new video, for “Who Owns My Heart.”

At 17, Miley is just discovering herself both as a woman and as an artist, as she said herself on numerous occasions.

As such, talk about how certain things are not really that appropriate for her, especially considering her still young fanbase, is bound to emerge.

For all she cares, Miley is focusing on one thing and one thing only: determined to break free from her squeaky clean girlie image, she’s trying to show that, as an artist, she can be more.

Like, a wild party girl who becomes one with the music and would dance until the end of day – as she appears to be in the video for “Who Owns My Heart.”

The clip, premiered in Madrid a few hours ago, shows Miley is leather hotpants and daringly cut tops, partying like there’s no tomorrow, as E! Online puts it.

Naturally, it was to be expected for some to say that she’s pushing the envelope a bit too far and that she comes across as forced because of it.

On the other hand, there are also those who salute Miley’s becoming a woman and not being afraid to show it, just like countless other female artists have also done before her.

“In the video, the 17-year-old rolls out of bed (in undies!) before heading to a house mansion party where she cozies up to guys – and yes, girls – on the dance floor,” E! writes of the brand new release.

However, nothing happens but dancing.

“Much like ‘Can’t Be Tamed,’ Cyrus shows off plenty of skin while strutting around in short shorts and a slinky, low-cut gold top,” the same e-zine notes.

Thinking of what Miley said of the concept of her album – “It’s just about freeing yourself from anything you think is holding you back” – the new video does make a lot of sense.

“Cyrus’ second single to be released domestically will be her cover of Poison’s ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn.’ We’re hearing it should be out sometime next month,” E! also adds for all Miley fans out there.

Below is the video. Watch and judge for yourself whether it’s too risky a move for Miley, career-wise.
