Miley Cyrus is no longer in the running to play Bonnie in an upcoming “Bonnie & Clyde” miniseries, Michael Ausiello of TV Line reports. No word yet on what might have prompted her to drop out of negotiations.
Word first got out of the possible casting choice at the beginning of the month, with various sources saying Miley was almost a sure thing for it.
Voices online even said that her real-life beau Liam Hemsworth could play Clyde.
“Miley Cyrus is no longer in the running to play the female lead in Bonnie & Clyde, a four-hour miniseries in development for cable siblings History and Lifetime,” TV Line writes.
“Cyrus had been in negotiations to play Bonnie in the project, which is being shepherded by Smash exec producers, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. It’s not clear what led to the breakdown in talks,” the same report notes.
A replacement for Cyrus is yet to be announced.
