Disney star Miley Cyrus left Twitter in October 2009, vouching never to come back again because she wanted to have “real” friends, as opposed to just virtual ones. As it turns out, she’s changed her mind.

As E! Online can confirm, the singer and actress took over the already existing account @GypsyHeartTour because she wanted to keep her fans updated while she was on tour.

However, the explanation she gave was far better – and funnier – than the real reason: it was Charlie Sheen and his tweets of wisdom that brought her back.

“‘Do not fear...the Sheenius is here!’ I’m not gonna lie. I came back to twitter for 2 reasons. My fans and to follow @charliesheen #winning,” Miley first wrote, to announce her return to Twitter.

Since then, the star has been keeping busy: she’s tweeted about her personal life, hinting that she and former flame Liam Hemsworth are back together again, and she’s tweeted to amuse fans, posing with a moustache to celebrate reaching 100,000 followers.

Clearly, Miley has had a complete change of heart. When she first deleted her Twitter account, she said she couldn’t handle not having a personal life anymore and having every word coming out of her mouth printed in glossy magazines.

Also then, she urged her fans to leave their computers and to go outside to have real relationships and find real friends, because no amount of time spent on Facebook and Twitter could substitute for genuine human communication.

“I often complain to the ones closest to me that I don’t seem to have much of a private life any more and part of that is my fault. How can I whine about my life being to[o] public if I am the one telling the world what I am doing?” she said at the time, as we also reported

“That is not the real world. Not only that, but if we spent more time enjoying what we are doing besides tweeting about it, we would enjoy our lives a whole lot more. I have very little free time and the moments that I do have I should be spending with my family and friends and loving every minute of their company,” Miley explained.
