Miley Cyrus Hates the ‘New Moon’ Hype

As almost the entire world is swept away by the “Twilight” mania, with just days to go until the release of the second film in the franchise, the much-hyped “New Moon,” Miley Cyrus is one teenager who will not hear about vampires and werewolves. In fact, the Disney darling hates everything that comes with “Twilight,” from the story to the movie and the merchandise, as MTV can confirm.

In a recent interview, Miley has inevitably stumbled across the question that is on everybody’s lips these days: will she go to see “New Moon” or won’t she? To this, the young singer, songwriter and actress has replied in the most blunt manner that she will not, because she’s not a fan of vampire movies and, frankly, there is nothing about “Twilight” to convince her that it’s worth her time.

“In a backstage interview at a show in Cleveland, Miley Cyrus told radio station Q92 that she’s neither Team Edward nor Team Jacob – in fact, she’s not even on team ‘Twilight.’ The singer said that not only has she never watched the vampire flick, but she doesn’t plan to. ‘I’ve never seen it and nor will I ever,’ Miley told surprised Q92 reporter Nikolina. The starlet went on to elaborate on what exactly it is about ‘Twilight’ that offends her.” MTV writes of Miley’s stand as regards the hottest vampire film of our times.

When pressed for an explanation for her aversion, all Cyrus could say was that it was definitely not her type of movie, for which she made it a purpose to steer clear from it. “I don’t believe in it. I don’t like vampires... I don’t like the wolf that pops out of the screen when I’m watching my TV at night. I don’t like it. I don’t want anything to do with it. I don’t like the shirts. I don’t like any of it. I feel really lame because everyone’s, like, so excited, and I’m like, ‘Don’t even talk about it.’” Miley continues by saying.

As fans will remember, earlier this year, Miley took another hit at the “Twilight” franchise, if one may call it so, this time striking at a generation’s idol, British star Robert Pattinson. Although she initially said she couldn’t understand what the whole fuss with Pattinson was all about, she later admitted that even she considered him very charming, although not to her taste.
