Miley Cyrus has hinted before that she’s genderqueer, by saying that she identified as non-binary when it came to gender, but she’s yet to “come out” explicitly. Her new interview with Paper Magazine, though not including said coming out, will leave no room for doubt as to where she stands on the matter.

The former Disney star, whom we’ve witness going through a drastic transformation in recent years, says she doesn’t identify as a boy or a girl. Similarly, she has no expectations of her romantic partner in terms of gender, she continues.

Miley Cyrus is bisexual

The Paper Magazine spread is the kind that is bound to break the Internet. Remember, this is the same publication that put Kim Kardashian bare derriere on the cover in November 2014 in a stated attempt to “break the Internet.”

The Internet survived, but it looks like Paper is making a tradition out of trying to do away with it - so now, they put Miley on the cover, wearing nothing but paint and mud, embracing her pet pig.

We can’t include with this article any of the photos in the spread, one more revealing than the other, for discretion reasons. They are, however, available at the link in the first paragraph.

The interview is just as revealing as the spread, in that Miley finally opens up on her gender identity and her orientation. Apparently, her mother has known she was bisexual since she was 14 and she starred on TV as Hannah Montana.

“I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn't involve an animal and everyone is of age. Everything that's legal, I'm down with. Yo, I'm down with any adult - anyone over the age of 18 who is down to love me,” she says. “I don't relate to being boy or girl, and I don't have to have my partner relate to boy or girl.”

An old secret

She says she’s had serious relationships with women, almost as serious as her highly-publicized relationship with ex-fiancé Liam Hemsworth, but she never spoke about them because the issue didn’t come up.

Speaking of not bringing stuff into the spotlight, Miley says that her mother knew about her being bi since she was 14. She had some issues with accepting it at first, because she thought her career and personal life would be destroyed if the word got out, but she eventually came around and has been extremely supportive.

Miley says her coming out to her mother was very simple and matter of fact, telling her that she liked girls in the same way she liked boys. Her mother’s first reaction, though, was thinking that Miley would go to hell. “But she believes in me more than she believes in any god,” Miley says.

It all worked out fine for her and her family.
