Not long ago, Miley Cyrus was being criticized in the tabs for being too “chunky.” Today, she has to defend herself again, by shooting down rumors that she has developed anorexia or another form of eating disorder.

In recent weeks, the former Disney star has been photographed looking definitely thinner – but also more toned – than ever before.

However, it was a photo she posted on Twitter that got people speculating on whether she was dealing in secret with an eating disorder.

Miley posted a photo of herself smelling a bag of takeaway junk food.

“I can't eat it. So I'm just gonna smell the [expletive] out of it! My mouth is LITERALLY watering,” she wrote in the accompanying message.

Many of her fans and followers took that as half-confirmation that she was starving herself or, at least, deliberately denying herself at least some foods.

As it turns out, there's nothing willing about giving up junk food, Miley explains: she has allergies and, as such, she's cut gluten from her meals.

This has inevitably translated into some weight loss.

“For everyone calling me anorexic I have a gluten and lactose allergy. It's not about weight it's about health. Gluten is [bad] anyway! ” the star says.

To prove that she's not alone in taking offense at being called anorexic when she's merely taking better care of herself these days, she also retweeted a tweet from Will Smith.

“Skinny = anorexic , thick = obese , virgin = too good , non-virgin = [expletive] , friendly = fake , quiet = rude. You can never please society,” he wrote.

Indeed, Miley has been looking thinner but she's also been working out more, as countless paparazzi shots available online can surely attest.

For many a week now, she's been photographed leaving the gym after intense Pilates workouts. This, coupled with the new gluten-free diet would account for her shrinking but fit figure.
