Miley Cyrus Confirms Engagement to Liam Hemsworth

Miley Cyrus is ready to tie the knot: Liam Hemsworth, her boyfriend of 3 years, proposed to her just a few days ago – and she said yes. Confirmation comes from Miley herself in this week's issue of People magazine.

“Wedding Party in the USA! Miley Cyrus and Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth are engaged to be married after three years of dating, their reps confirm to PEOPLE exclusively,” the celebrity publication writes.

It also says that Liam, who met and fell in love with Miley on the set of the film “The Last Song,” which sadly flopped at the box office, popped the question to her on May 31st.

He also presented her with a “3.5-carat diamond ring from jeweler Neil Lane,” the first photo of which will emerge once the print issue of the magazine is out.

One day after the proposal, Miley tweeted that “heaven is a place on earth ❤,” which makes sense considering she'd just agreed to marry her ideal boyfriend, as she once described Liam.

“I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam,” she says in a very brief statement to People.

She doesn't mention anything about a wedding date or provide more details on what must have been a very romantic proposal, but People promises a bit more insight into that in the print issue.

“For more on Cyrus and Hemsworth's engagement, including what their families think – and to see a photo of Cyrus's ring – pick up this week's issue of People, on newsstands Friday,” the mag says.

Liam, brother of “Thor” star Chris Hemsworth, was last seen in the box office hit “Hunger Games,” and will soon start shooting on the sequel.

Back in March this year, the first rumors of a possible engagement started making the rounds, after Miley tweeted a photo of what looked very much like a diamond ring she might have gotten with a proposal from Liam.

She personally denied them, saying she'd had that ring for many years and adding that she was actually showing off her manicure in the photo that caused such media frenzy.
