Miley Cyrus finally addresses bong controversy: “I’m disappointed in myself for disappointing my fans.”

In the March 2011 issue of Marie Claire, Miley Cyrus is finally speaking out on the controversy around that video that leaked at the end of last year, showing her smoking a bong with salvia. She’s sorry for everything.

Since one of her “friends” leaked the video of her smoking the bong, Miley has said nothing about the scandal that broke shortly afterwards.

The time has come to break her silence: and she wants fans to know she’s sorry for letting them down, she just made mistake. After all, we’re all human.

“I’m not perfect... I made a mistake... I’m disappointed in myself for disappointing my fans,” Miley tells the magazine.

When the interviewer suggests that she did nothing different from millions of other teens from around the world, the singer and actress points out that she has a reputation to live by.

“But they’re not Miley Cyrus. They’re not role models. So for me it was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for,” she says.

The same goes for the album she put out and that many fans interpreted as very unlike her, a clear move to break free from her fanbase.

“What I never wanted was for my fans to ever feel like I betrayed them... to feel like I said I was something then turned around and was something that I’m not,” the pop star / actress says of “Can’t Be Tamed.”

“But I’ve never, ever claimed to be perfect. I mean, since I’ve started the show, I’ve always said: ‘I’m gonna make mistakes.’ I know this,” she stresses.

In the same interview, Miley also opens up about the drama in her family, what with her parents divorcing after over a decade together, her upcoming film “LOL” and how she looks up to Demi Moore like to a mother-figure.
