The carrier confirms the move officially

Not too long ago, mobile phone maker Motorola has released on the European market the Motorola Milestone XT720 Android-based device, without unveiling any plans to have the device launched in the United States as well, but it seems that US enthusiasts won't have too long to wait before the handset lands in the country.

At least Android fans on Cincinnati Bell would be able to enjoy the capabilities of this device, as the carrier has just confirmed via Facebook that it would have the phone available for its users starting with mid-August. Previous rumors also pointed towards a near launch of the phone at this carrier.

“The Motorola XT720 Milestone is due to launch in Mid-August. All CBW internal testing is complete. Both CBW and Motorola anxiously await Google approval which is the last step in the launch process for this device. We'll keep you posted when we have more information to share,” the wireless carrier stated on its Facebook page. Rumors on the upcoming arrival of Milestone XT720 at this carrier emerged a while ago, and it seems that they can be finally put to rest.

In case there are some who might not have heard of the Motorola Milestone XT720, we should mention that the device is nothing else but an upgraded version of Motorola's Motoroi device, which was officially released on the market in Korea earlier this year. The Motoroi was the first Android 2.1-based handset launched in Korea, and Motorola was quite pleased with the popularity it enjoyed there, thus deciding to make it available in more markets under a different name.

Unfortunately, no specific details on what the Cincinnati Bell-bound Motorola Milestone XT720 would pack have been unveiled for the time being. Chances are that the handset vendor decided to make some modifications from the original design, and that the carrier's customers would get more than European users did. No info on the pricing of the handset emerged either, but, since the release date is only about two weeks from now, more should be made available in the near future.
