AC Milan is out of strikers for the new season. Of course, there are Inzaghi and Gilardino who form Milan's offensive line, but the upcoming season is announcing to be a difficult one. Serie A, Champions League and the Italian Cup are all competitions Carlo
Ancelotti wants to win. And you can't do that with only 2 strikers, no matter how prolific they are.

That was the main reason why the Italian side wanted to sign Ronaldo from Real Madrid. Once the Spanish club made it clear that Ronaldo is not for sale, Milan is now trying to get Didier Drogba's signature by tomorrow night.

Despite club's officials speeding talks with Chelsea for the Ivorian, Jose Mourinho doesn't seem too thrilled about leaving his footballer go. As a matter of fact, the two had a big argument earlier this summer, when Drogba told the Chelsea officials that he wants to play in Italy.

Once the player admitted he was wrong, things got back to normal. Still, according to the Italian media, Milan tried one more bid for the player yesterday. Chelsea is offered 28 million euros for Drogba. Still, FIFA agent Oscar Damiani - the man in charge of Milan's transfer action - explained the Milanese club why Drogba's move to San Siro would be almost impossible.

"Chelsea would have to find a proper replacement for Drogba in less than 2 days, since the transfer window will close on Thursday. This is the main reason why Chelsea will not let go of the player. Milan is trying to replace Shevchenko, but I'm afraid he's irreplaceable. We still have great strikers like Inzaghi and Gilardino, and rising talents like Borriello and Amoroso", said Damiani.

If Chelsea doesn't accept Milan's offer - and that's more than likely to happen - Damiani gave his verdict: "We'll wait till the next transfer window, in Juanuary".
