Just now, MikroTik has rolled out a new version of its RouterOS that is compatible with all of its routers, switches, access points, and other devices, namely version 6.30 Release Candidate, which adds a few changes that improve usability.

For now, the new release modifies the DHCP server’s default lease time from 3 days to 10 minutes in order to prevent the situations where users would run out of IPs. Also, the new update allows binding the IPsec modeconf address to username.

However, this is a pre-release RC test firmware that helps you benefit from the latest changes that are to be provided along with a stable version somewhere in the near future.

In addition to that, you should also know that the downloadable packages are updated hourly as the new announcement is intended for test purposes and might contain issues. Therefore, do check our website as often as possible to make sure you download the latest available firmware.

As for the compatible devices, the 6.20 RC update is developed to work with all MikroTik’s products with TILE, MIPSBE, X86, POWERPC, MIPSLE architectures (a .npk file is available for each architecture within the downloadable archive).

With this in mind, download MikroTik RouterOS 6.20 Release Candidate for the device you own, apply the latest firmware, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
