Today, MikroTik has outed the 6.20 release candidate 10 firmware version compatible with all of its routers, switches, access points, and several other devices, which optimizes all non-ppp tunnel interfaces and includes a set of new features.

Specifically speaking, the 6.20 RC 10 release now supports the selftest function for smart and hid UPS systems, increases the PPPoE connection timeout in order to be able to connect even to a busy server, and allows binding IPsec modeconf address to username.

Moreover, EoIP (Ethernet over IP), GRE (Generic Routing Encapsulation), IPIP (IP-in-IP), as well as EoIPv6, GRE6, IPIPv6, and IPv4 to IPv6 tunnels now benefit from new features such as Auto MTU, DSCP, and TCP MSS clamping (enabled by default).

In addition to that, the EoIP, GRE, IPIP, and IPv4 to IPv6 tunnels also receive a “Don’t Fragment” option (disabled by default), the DHCP server now has a 10-minute lease time in order to avoid running out of IPs, and the bridge connections are compatible with the Auto MTU feature.

As for the downloadable packages, this new release includes the architectures for all MikroTik devices, namely mipsbe, mipsle, ppc, tile, and x86. Thus, save and extract the archive, and use only the files compatible with your device’s architecture.

That being said, download Firmware 6.20 RC 10 for MikroTik Router, apply it on your device, and enjoy the new features that this update brings about. However, don’t forget that this is still a beta release.
