Some of the individuals who have canceled their engagements at the RSA Conference will be holding their talks at The Trustworthy Technology Conference (TrustyCon), an event which takes place on February 27 at the AMC Metreon in San Francisco.

TrustyCon was launched by iSEC partners after news broke that several people and organizations were boycotting the RSA Conference due to RSA’s lack of transparency regarding a controversial NSA contract.

At TrustyCon, F-Secure CRO Mikko Hypponen will deliver a talk titled “Governments as Malware Authors.” This is the presentation he had prepared for the RSA Conference before deciding to cancel his talk.

In addition to Hypponen, Marcia Hofmann and Christopher Soghoian will make a presentation on “The Laws and Ethics of Trustworthy Technology.” Google’s Chris Palmer and DEF CON Founder Jeff Moss will also attend TrustyCon.

Tickets for TrustyCon cost $50 (€37). All proceeds will go to the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF).
