Boxing champ gets an A for effort, but a C for execution

Mike Tyson and Terry Crews are the latest celebrities to duke it out on stage in Spike TV’s new and hilarious show Lip Sync Battle, inspired by a similarly-titled skit that debuted on Jimmy Fallon.

A preview for Tyson’s bit, which is a cover of Salt N Pepa’s “Push It” hit single, has been released online - and it’s as funny as it’s amazing. You can see it below; the full episode airs later this week.

Decked with pleather tights and a bright red bomber jacket, and plenty of gold chains, the former boxing champ, backed up by several female dancers, launches into a very energetic routine to the music of the Salt N Pepa’s classic.

However, as the crowd cheers on and even host LL Cool J and Crews join in, Mike gets so caught up in the moment and the fist-pumping (and the hip-thrusting) that he forgets to do the thing he had been asked on the show to do: lip sync.

Cue jokes about how members in the audience were too scared of him to interrupt and remind him that he was supposed to be lip syncing.

Either way, the video is worth a few seconds of your time: Mike gets an A for effort, but a C for execution. We’ll see how his entire number fared to Terry’s this week.
