This week probably made a lot of BlackBerry users think of switching to other mobile platforms, such as iOS, Android or Windows Phone.

After almost four days of BlackBerry service outages, RIM's co-CEO and founder Mike Lazaridis came forward with a public statement apologizing for the downtime of the network and offering some details on how the company is handling this issue.

Although Lazaridis states that the company is approaching to normal BlackBerry services in Europe, Middle East, India and Africa, there's no mentions of other regions, such as South America, Canada, and the United States.

According to Lazaridis, the company is now monitoring the system very closely and is working hard to stabilize it.

Even though steady improvements have been achieved, “it’s too soon to say that this issue is fully resolved,” Lazaridis claims.
