Comcept has released another video showing in-game footage of the upcoming Mega Man spiritual successor Mighty No. 9, displaying some of protagonist Beck's moves.

The first glimpse at in-game footage was offered at the beginning of last month, when Keiji Inafune himself was shown testing an alpha build of Mighty No. 9. This time around, we get a longer video of the alpha test, showing the legendary game designer jump, shoot and dash over placeholder terrain, and taking out some enemies in the upcoming action platformer.

The video also depicts an area that features a rendered background art and some of the lighting effects that will be present in the final version of Mighty No. 9, showing transitions from bright to more dimly-lit areas.

"What a sad way to go," Inafune commented when being shown the death animation, a colorful explosion of blue plasma.

The vivid platformer started its life as a project pitch on Kickstarter and was met with great enthusiasm. Now it's getting ever closer to becoming a real thing, with Beck already able to run, dash, blast, backwards jump, downwards dash and ledge climb, which is pretty much everything a character needs in order to survive in a platformer.

Mighty No. 9 is currently in development for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita, which is to say pretty much everything with buttons and a screen, and its intended release window is April 2015.
