Comcept’s upcoming platformer Mighty No. 9 just got a small teaser video, showing Keiji Inafune playing an alpha build of the game.

Mighty No. 9 is legendary designer Keiji Inafune’s spiritual successor to Mega Man, aiming to deliver a modern game with the time-tested classic Japanese action-platforming gameplay.

The project was funded through Kickstarter and was wildly successful, and the team has slowly revealed the game’s characters and progress updates, this being the first official footage video that sees the light of day.

The clip emerged after Keiji Inafune’s D.I.C.E. Summit 2014 talk about crowdfuning and the design freedom it affords. He also stated that work on Mighty No. 9 development was going well, with character movement being just the way he wanted it.

The video shows him blasting some baddies and jumping around, giving a taste of the upcoming title’s gameplay and visual style, ending with him smiling satisfied.
