A new case has been released, one that isn't likely to be used by anyone looking forward to the new Intel Core i7 Extreme Performance central processing units. It's an entry-level chassis after all.

Called Badger JY-230, it was created by Inter-Tech and made for people seeking to create a low-end or mid-range computer.

The design is pretty basic, with simple vents on the side panel and the usual array of 5.25-inch drive bays on the front panel (four of them to be precise).

Still, there is one highlight, as if to make the newcomer stick out among all the other understated and average models in the world: a round, glowing blue ornament around the power button.

It will shine with an inner light when the computer is active. Admittedly, most power buttons have a backlight of some sort, but this one has a more obvious, wider decorative piece.

The case measures 410 x 180 x 405 mm / 16.14 x 7.08 x 15.94 inches and has, in addition to the four external 5.25-inch bays we already mentioned, four 3.5-inch drive bays, plus an external, fifth one.

As for cooling, there is a 120 mm intake fan at the front of the Inter-Tech Badger JY-230, plus a 92 mm rear exhaust fan. Everything is held together by a non-coated SECC steel framework, with the front made of ABS plastic.
