Chinese handset maker ZTE has just announced the upcoming availability of the mid-budget T81 Android smartphone in Australia.

It’s unclear why ZTE picked Australia to offer this mid-end handset, but the company confirmed the smartphone will be exclusive to this country.

Software-wise, the ZTE T81 will be delivered with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box and will provide full access to more than 600,000 apps and games via Google Play store.

On the inside, the smartphone is said to pack a powerful 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Last but not least, the device sports a 4.3-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution, as well as an 8-megapixel rear camera. No word on price tag and availability yet.
