Microsoft has recently announced that it would rename its cloud-based storage service SkyDrive to OneDrive in order to settle a trademark dispute in the United Kingdom, but the company hasn’t provided any details on the date when the change could take place.

In an email that Microsoft is now sending to users, it’s mentioned that SkyDrive will become OneDrive “in the coming weeks,” again with no clear specifics provided.

“In the coming weeks you'll notice a change happening. SkyDrive will become OneDrive, an even better place to store and share your favorite things across all of your favorite devices. But don't worry, during this transition you'll still be able to access all of your photos, videos, documents, and files. OneDrive. It's everything you love about SkyDrive and more. And it's coming soon,” the text included in the mail reads.

The change is very likely to take place in April when Microsoft is expected to launch Windows 8.1 Update 1, an important set of improvements for Windows 8.1 that would also include a OneDrive client.
