We all know that Microsoft is making the final preparations for the release of their next mobile operating system version, but no specific info on when it might be released on new and existing devices has emerged until now.

September has been long rumored to be the time frame when Mango will make an appearance into the wild, and it seems that September 15th might be the actual release date for the new software update for existing Windows Phones.

Rest assured, nothing is officially confirmed for the time being, but various sources are pointing at the same release date for the new software update, and things might indeed turn out this way in the end.

Apparently, one developer who is getting ready to release a Mango update has already unveiled the fact that Mango will be released as a software update starting with September 15th, a recent article on WPCentral reads.

The news site claims that this is actually a known commercial software developer company, and that they trust the source.

At the same time, reports on HTC's support team confirming that the software update will be released before the end of this month also emerged, adding more fuel to the fire.

Along with these pieces of info comes news on Dell's Venue Pro smartphone expected to become available for purchase once again on September 15th, after being pulled from vendor's website for quite some time.

Previous rumors suggested that the handset might be put back for sale as soon as it is updated to Mango, and it seems that things did line up nicely on this one.

For the time being, however, nothing is official, and Microsoft still has to make a formal announcement both on the availability of Mango as a software update for older devices, as well as on the release of new smartphones based on the platform.
