Microsoft has already announced that it would release lots of security updates on Patch Tuesday, but it seems like the company is also getting ready to launch a new firmware for the Surface Pro.

A post on the MSDN blogs indicates that a so-called “Surface Pro firmware and driver pack” is prepared for the July 2013 Patch Tuesday cycle, but no specifics are provided.

The provided download link still gets users to the June 2013 package, so the page will most likely be updated in just a few hours.

“Cumulative firmware and drivers for the Surface Pro. This firmware and driver package contains drivers for all of the components in the Surface Pro device, as well as updates to the system firmware that have been released via Windows Update. These drivers and firmware are compatible with Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8 Enterprise. These drivers and firmware are not compatible with Surface RT,” the official description reads.
