Internet Explorer 10 is one of the first apps that went down during the first day of the Pwn2Own hacking competition, as security company VUPEN has managed to successfully exploit two flaws in the browser.

Now, Redmond-based technology company Microsoft is planning to fix the two flaws on Patch Tuesday, as almost every version of its in-house browser will get important fixes next week.

While no specific details are provided on the security issues, VUPEN said that it had managed to break into a Microsoft Surface Pro by exploiting two zero-day Internet Explorer 10 vulnerabilities and thus compromise the Windows 8 operating system.

According to Microsoft’s advisory, Internet Explorer 10 will receive critical updates on both Windows 8 and Windows RT workstations, while the Windows 7 version released a few days ago doesn’t seem to be affected.
