Windows 8 will be officially unveiled by Steve Ballmer in New York on October 25, but the company will launch a pack of updates next week, with several changes to be brought to the built-in Modern Apps.

The “Games” app is one of the tools that will be improved and Microsoft said in a blog post that Windows 8 early adopters would get some very exciting goodies.

First of all, the “Games” app will feature in-game purchasing, which basically allows users to buy a specific game without the need to load the Windows Store. It will also boast invites and turn notifications, but the most important thing is that “exciting new games” will also be introduced.

Microsoft hasn’t provided more details on the new games, but it did mention that all updates would be delivered in the next few weeks.
