Microsoft has recently announced that it would launch the Surface RT in Russia this Thursday, as the company is working to expand international availability of its first tablet in history.

While we can’t tell for sure whether this is an April Fools’ joke or not, such a decision pretty much makes sense, especially because the Redmond-based giant is struggling to bring the device in new markets as soon as possible.

Pricing is unconfirmed for the time being, but Microsoft is reportedly planning to launch the device as party of a larger event that will also host a concert in a popular Russian shopping center.

M.video is the only Russian retailer to sell the device for now, but Microsoft is very likely to bring it to new stores anytime soon. In addition, the company could sell it online as well, but more information will most likely be provided on April 4, during the public launch.
