14 DAY TRIAL // There's a plethora of new applications that Microsoft plans to launch on all major platforms, including Android, iOS and Windows Phone.
We're already reported on some of them that leaked before Microsoft could unveil them officially, such as Flow, Dialer for Lync Meetings, and InstaNote.
It looks like these won't be the only ones that might be officially introduced this year, as Neowin reports Microsoft is now actively working on a cross-platform app called Office Now.
The information doesn't really come as a surprise since Bill Gates revealed a few months ago that he's working on a new “personal agent,” and judging by the features Office Now offers, this could be it.
According to the official description, Office Now should offer at-a-glance summary of a user's dday first thing in the morning directly from the lock screen or notification center.
It's developed to offer information faster than Cortana
In addition, the application also features something called “commute card,” which tells users what traffic looks like and how long the commute will take.
With the “highlights card,” users will be presented with insights about their day. For example, you can find out ho much time you spend in events, as well as when your first event is scheduled to start and when the last event should end.
The “missed call card” does just what it says, it shows any missed calls and offers a quick action to return the call in case you need to do that. There's also a “email to yourself card” that display any email that you can send to yourself.
Office Now also allows users to created events thanks to the “natural language event creation” feature. Users will also be able to see in-depth people insights via a deep link into the Revolve app.
For the time being, Office Now is being internally tested at Microsoft. The application should arrive on Windows Phone, Android and iOS, as soon as it exits beta.
