The Softies have already confirmed recently that they’re working on an LTE version of the Surface tablet, but Panos Panay, the man behind the whole Surface project at Microsoft, revealed more details during a recent event in Seattle.

According to GeekWire, Panay has indeed confirmed that the LTE SKU is set to go live in the first months of 2014, with AT&T to sell the device in the United States, while Vodafone will be responsible for distributing the unit in Europe.

No LTE flavor of the Surface Pro would be released, Panay said, so consumers who want to browse the web on the go would have to stick to the RT model.

As far as pricing is concerned, Microsoft has remained tight-lipped on this, but expect the LTE model to be a bit more expensive than the standard units. The cheapest Surface 2 is priced at $449 (€360).
