Codenamed Apollo, the next flavor of Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system is expected to arrive sometime in fall, yet specific info on what it would have to offer hasn’t been officially unveiled until now.

However, that might change as soon as June 20th, when the company will kick off the Windows Phone Summit in San Francisco. Microsoft already sent out invitations for the event, promising a “sneak peek of the future of Windows Phone.”

This appears to confirm that the company will make available a wide range of details on the upcoming platform, and that it might also unveil hardware partners or even devices running under the OS.

We heard a lot of rumors regarding the new features that might be included in Windows Phone 8, such as support for higher-end hardware, and better integration with Microsoft’s services, but Microsoft has kept mum on the matter until now.
