Microsoft is working to enrich the dog-eat-dog world of celebrities with new content which is bound to deliver a new perspective on survival of the fittest strategies, as far as grabbing center stage goes. The Redmond company and partner BermanBraun announced they would be extending the Wonderwall website with a new project designed to explore the celebrity side of politics. BermanBraun and the Msnbc Digital Network will oversee the new online destination positioned at the intersection between celebrity and politics. Essentially, the new project will cover politicians from a new perspective, that of celebrities, revealing their contribution to popular culture.

”We are excited to partner with BermanBraun to build content experiences that are not only compelling for consumers but also attractive to our advertisers,” noted Charlie Tillinghast, president of the Msnbc Digital Network. “BermanBraun has been innovative and creative with advertising and we look forward to reaching out to our key clients to continue to deliver effective and impactful solutions.”

According to Gina Stikes from the Msnbc Digital Network, the new website is planned for release by the end of 2010. The politics-oriented Wonderwall website will be offered to users as an extension of the current website, which is focused on the life of genuine celebrities, but also of D-list stars in the constant media whoring race (expect more of this as politicians will also get more coverage from Wonderwall). Stikes noted that while design, programming, and operations of the new website would be the responsibility of BermanBraun, Msnbc Digital Network will deal with distribution, content creation and advertising.

“Many of our most fascinating public figures live in the world of politics,” said BermanBraun partners Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun. “We feel the political arena is a natural extension of the Wonderwall brand, and we are excited to partner in this new endeavor with msnbc.”
