A Surface advertisement includes an embarrassing mistake in an Excel spreadsheet

Microsoft uses the Office productivity suite to call the Surface a productivity tablet god, claiming that users are finally provided with a way to work on the go without the need to carry those heavy laptops every time they’re on the go.

Now, the editors over at Apple Insider have found that the Surface tablet actually fails its very own math exam, as Redmond has apparently included an embarrassing mistake in a billboard ad.

The picture you’re seeing here is an ad showcased in San Francisco and supposed to show the budget one would need to make a trip to Hawaii.

The funny thing is that the Surface in the ad claims that $9,000 (€6,720) would be enough for food, hotel, airfare, and dive rentals, but the total of all expenses in the image is actually $9,500 (€7,095).

While it’s pretty clear that someone at Redmond is pretty angry right now (hint: Panos Panay), it’s not actually such a big deal, as we all know that Excel is actually one of the greatest tools of all times.

And, in the end, no need to worry, Microsoft – we all hate math anyway.
