Microsoft is clearly betting big on end users with its new products, including Surface tablets and Windows 8, but the company is also keeping an eye on the enterprise market.

The tech giant is now using its cloud-based services to conquer more workplaces and, as far as Sid Parakh of McAdams Wright Ragen is concerned, this is the right way to go.

Parakh told Barron's that Microsoft should focus a bit more on the enterprise market, as the company has a significant opportunity in this particular sector of the industry.

“We believe that Microsoft has a significant long-term opportunity on the Enterprise front given its legacy footprint. The company is uniquely positioned to deliver hybrid cloud services (infrastructure, platforms and applications) and we expect to see continued traction on this front,” he said.

What's more, a large share of enterprises is still running Windows 7 and Windows XP, even though the company has recently launched Windows 8. Figures released by Forrester indicate that Microsoft will have a very tough time trying to move customers from Windows XP, with all hopes now on the Windows 8.1 upgrade due this summer.
