Andy Lees, the one who was appointed the Microsoft VP of corporate strategy and development seven months ago, has decided to take a sabbatical to spend more time with his family in the United Kingdom.

According to AllThingsD, Lees will return to Microsoft later this year in a new role, but no other specifics have been provided.

Andy Lees was officially appointed Microsoft VP of corporate strategy and development in November 2012, after previously working for the Windows Phone division and holding key roles in Microsoft’s partnership with Barnes & Noble.

It’s not yet clear if this new move is part of Microsoft’s broader reorganization plan that Steve Ballmer is believed to be working on, but more details are expected to be provided by July 1 when the CEO is expected to give his go-ahead to a major internal reshuffle.
