Windows 8.1 will be here in just a few hours, so the new head of the operating systems divisions at Microsoft took the time to praise the operating system a little bit before everybody gets their hands on it.

Terry Myerson wrote a post for the official Windows blog to explain that Windows 8.1 brings so many improvements that it’s capable to provide “one experience for everything in your life.”

“If you’re already running Windows 8, download 8.1 tomorrow to see the new Windows, which brings you one experience for everything in your life. And if you’re in the market for a new device, keep an eye out for the great new Windows devices that will be on store shelves this holiday season: from affordable phones, 8” tablets and touch PCs to high-end devices, there’s a Windows device for you,” Myerson wrote.

Of course, he used the occasion to praise some other devices as well, explaining that both tablets and smartphones running Windows 8.1 are capable of providing the same unique experience that’s impossible to find on products created by competition.

“Quickly get to your favorite apps and content with Live Tiles. Take pictures on your Windows Phone and show them to your friends and family on a Windows device or Xbox with SkyDrive integration. With Bing, it’s easier than ever to find what you need, from a document on your laptop to text within a photo taken on your Windows Phone,” he wrote.

“Use Skype to IM or video call out of the box on any device. Take your music collection with you from your living room to your office to the gym with Xbox Music. Use your phone or tablet to control your Xbox with SmartGlass.”

This isn’t the first time when Myerson talks big about Microsoft’s products, but it’s actually one of his first attempts to praise the work of his own division.

Myerson has a really tough mission right now to restore people’s faith in Windows, as many users have criticized the company for the changes it made to Windows 8. The lack of a Start button, the introduction of the new Modern UI and several other modifications turned Windows 8 into one of the least successful products ever released by Microsoft.
