Microsoft is aiming to expand its communication platform and has announced it will be making its Lync App compatible with Android tablets (complete with Skype function).

And at the Lync Conference in Las Vegas, company officials said Microsoft was planning to roll out the native Lync app for Android tablets as soon as this month. At the event in question, they showed off the above-mentioned app and an early version of the software.

Launched back in 2010, the Lync platform was the company’s unique vision to unify the ways in which people communicate in the work environment. The app supports Windows Phone, iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and Windows and will be extended this summer to Android tablets.

Basically, Lync was created to enable anybody in an organization to talk to anyone else – regardless of whether they are in or out of the organization per se.
