Dean Hachamovitch, corporate vice president, Internet Explorer, revealed in a blog post that he would lead a new team to work on “something new” within the company.

While no details have been provided, Hachamovitch explained that Microsoft will continue to invest in Internet Explorer, so expect more improvements to be released in the coming months.

“I’m changing roles at Microsoft, and excited to start a new team to take on something new. Microsoft will of course continue to invest in the browser, in Web standards, in developer tooling for the Web, in privacy, and in even more areas than before. There’s a new set of capable leaders who will continue the strong work,” he said.

Microsoft recently launched Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7, thus providing users of its number one operating system with the company’s latest browser version.

Of course, IE continues to play a key role in Microsoft’s long-term strategy, especially because the company is paying more attention to the touch-based version of the browser capable of running in the Modern UI.
