14 DAY TRIAL // Redmond-based software giant Microsoft has a nice range of mobile applications available for owners of Android-based devices, and the company has just released a new one, in the form of Climatology.
Just as its name suggests, this is a weather application meant to provide users with info on climate conditions anywhere on Earth, including details on temperature, rain, and sunniness.
A great deal of weather applications is already available for Android users out there, but the new software is meant to provide them with a bit more than simple weather forecast info.
“Whether finding where are the warm, dry places to go on holiday in December, or avoiding rain for your wedding, to finding out what the climate is like in Kazakhstan in April, Climatology allows you to discover the information you want,” the application’s description reads.
Moreover, the company explains that Climatology is powered by Microsoft Research’s technology and that it has been designed by the software giant’s environmental scientists.
Thus, the mobile application is meant mainly for climate-related scientific research, but information provided by it is easily available to all interested users.
Microsoft’s Climatology app is up for grabs in the official Google Play store today as version 1.0.0. The mobile software offers support for all devices running under Android 2.3.3 and up, and is free to download, install, and use.
