BLTWY (www.bltwy.com) is a new online destination focused on politics, but with a small twist.

Essentially, users will not get a plain vanilla political website with the issues that matter, polls or policy at the core, but a hotspot which brings the celebrity side of politics into the limelight, promises Gina Stikes, from the Msnbc Digital Network team.

For the creation of BLTWY, MSN joined forces with BermanBraun and the Msnbc Digital Network.

“Politicians have now become part of popular culture and de-facto celebrities, attracting considerable media attention,” Stikes explained.

“BLTWY offers an entertaining – and often humorous take – on the world of politics.”

MSN and BermanBraun have worked together in the past on a project similar to BLTWY. In fact, users might recall the launch of Wonderwall, a site designed to deal with celebrities.

“BLTWY is an extension of the popular entertainment and celebrity destination Wonderwall and leverages the same entertaining voice and innovative presentation,” Stikes added.

On BLTWY, users will be able to access original content offered by its own editorial team.

In addition, Microsoft plans to include materials from the Msnbc Digital Network of sites, but also content from a select group of partners that are already players in the political arena.

“BLTWY’s unique design features large, engaging visuals and the ability to navigate on a full screen of photo galleries, stories and videos,” Stikes noted.

“You can scroll through the site and find the latest on what political players are eating, wearing and what they do in their free time.

“You can also participate in interactive polling on all content and share your favorites stories through social media.”

MSN and BermanBraun partnered to bring users not only Wonderwall, but also Glo, which was built in collaboration with Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S., and went live earlier this year.
