Microsoft is hammering away at the latest iteration of its online email service in an attempt to resolve the plethora of issues plaguing the most recent version rolled out to users as a part of Windows Live Wave 3. According to the Redmond company, the vast majority of Live Hotmail users are not experiencing any problems using the Wave 3 release; however, complaints have been raining in even here on Softpedia. Still, the software giant claims that it is well aware of the hiccups, and it is working to deliver resolves.

"Over the last few weeks we’ve rolled out fixes that resolve many of the issues you’ve reported. These include problems when using a larger text size in the browser, viewing your favorite contacts, accessing Hotmail from Firefox on Linux, and problems opening some messages. These fixes have now gone out to everyone, so you shouldn’t continue to see these problems," revealed a representative of Windows Live Hotmail.

In mid-December 2008, Microsoft plans to deliver an update designed to take care of the problems affecting scrolling. According to the software giant, the users with the reading pane turned off will experience Hotmail similarly to the Classic version. At the same time, the company plans to address feedback related to how the optimized resolution of Windows Live Hotmail Wave 3 fails to play well with smaller monitor configurations of 800x600.

"Coming early next year, you’ll see yet another update, which will complete the transition to the new Hotmail. We’ll be changing the banner ad at the top of the page to a vertical ad on the right-hand side, which will allow you to see more messages and more of your personal folders on the screen at once. We’ll also be adding more themes, increasing the number of messages on each page, and embedding instant messaging with Messenger right into Hotmail," the Windows Live Hotmail team member added.
