Senior Microsoft executives will participate in the House of Lords Internet Security Inquiry. In this context, the Microsoft representatives will stand in front of the House of Science and Technology Committee.

Microsoft UK's national technology officer, Jerry Fishenden, and Matt Lambert, Microsoft government affairs director will be the two company executives that will be heard by the House of Lords' Science and Technology Committee.

The exact details of Microsoft's presence in the House of Lords are unknown at this point, but there is a connection with the House of Science and Technology Committee's agenda. Personal Internet Security is the focus of the Science and Technology Committee, and as such the two Microsoft representatives are expected to be grilled on the measures implemented by the Redmond Company in order to safeguard its customers against online threats.

The Microsoft pair will additionally provide insight to the House of Science and Technology Committee on the role the technology industry plays and will play in providing security against online threats. The Science and Technology Committee will be looking to the protection delivered for end users in relation with online banking and commerce activities.

However, the Microsoft duo will not stand alone before the House of Science and Technology Committee, as Fishenden and Lambert will be joined by Linux kernel developer, Alan Cox, and Adam Laurie, The Bunker Secure Hosting director and chief security officer.

The Microsoft representatives are expected to appear before the House of Science and Technology Committee on Wednesday 17 January, 2007.
