The ferociousness with which Microsoft is fighting spam proves that the giant from Redmond is not joking when it comes to online security.

Ever since Gates introduced the trustworthy computing concept, Microsoft got involved in all the initiatives intended
to make the cyberspace a safer space.

After announcing at the beginning of the year Windows AntiSpyware, Microsoft declares war on spam.

The launching of MSN PostMaster and the implementing of Sender ID in the Hotmail service are just a part of the strategy employed by Microsoft to stop spam. The success of the Sender ID technology is hard to predict, but there are many who blame Microsoft's decision to employ Sender ID, the main argument being that this technology is not sufficiently tested and not universally accepted.

Many see in Microsoft's decision to use Sender ID an attempt to impose a standard which it has always supported and the contestants of the system and the opponents never miss a chance to mention the huge number of mails that will be lost because of Sender ID.
